GCF are recruiting for a new Grants Manager

Grants Manager at Gloucestershire Community Foundation

With over 30 years supporting our county, the Gloucestershire Community Foundation (GCF) is growing and developing rapidly.  Our mission is to continue to “increase our capacity through philanthropy, grant making and developing partnerships, to help strengthen the capabilities of our communities in order that they are able to thrive”.

Our Grants Manager is moving on after 6 years of dedicated service and we’re looking for the next person to join our team, helping us to change the world on our doorstep, by driving forward our grant services here in Gloucestershire. If you have a passion for supporting the community and the relevant or transferable experience, then this is the role for you.

GCF performs three functions: it supports philanthropy in the county, be that from individuals, families, local businesses, or the public sector; it provides community leadership through a deep understanding of the needs and issues; and it performs a grantmaking function, ensuring that money reaches those who need it, in the most effective way.  Essentially, we are an organisation striving to deliver exceptional service to our donors, fundholders and the charities we serve, but the main difference being we have a social conscience in all we do.

GCF has had significant impact for good in the county, distributing grants each year to projects across the county, addressing issues including health and wellbeing, homelessness, social isolation, education, and the environment, among others. Over the last five years alone, we have provided more than £3.5 million in grant funding via more than 1000 grant applications, to more than 450 community organisations in Gloucestershire, often supporting those completely overlooked and underfunded.

At GCF we strongly believe that we are here to serve our local communities and are focussed on providing the best possible service to charitable organisations in the county. Our approach is one of warmth and compassion and this carries through to everything we do.

This role will help ensure that we deliver a range of accessible, effective, and innovative grants programmes by providing guidance, and support to potential grant applicants, assisting with assessment of grant applications, participating in funding panels and administering the grantmaking process from start to finish.

We care deeply about our team members, provide a supportive, values led culture and offer opportunities for learning and growth. Thank you for considering Gloucestershire Community Foundation for the next stage of your career. I really look forward to hearing from you.

CEO, Talitha Nelson
