The Windsor Family Trust has been working with Gloucestershire Community Foundation since 2010, creating an endowment fund to support charities across Gloucestershire. The Trust provides matched funding to Gloucestershire groups who have shown creativity, initiative and effort in their own community fundraising activities.

Groups are encouraged to monitor the success of their independent fundraising activities and share fundraising best practices with others to develop a sustainable voluntary and community sector in Gloucestershire.

The Windsor Family Trust’s portfolio of Gloucestershire giving since 2010 has included grants to a Sea Cadets group towards a sailing dinghy for young people and a contribution to the David Vaisey Prize to encourage literacy in the county libraries. The programme has also supported a community group in Dursley that provide lunch clubs to reduce social isolation.

Projects that the Windsor Family Trust have supported recently include:

• Breakheart Community Project – to repair and clad a 15 metre industrial storage container which has been donated for use by the local community near Cam and Dursley
• Clean Slate Training and Employment – to recruit and train a Clean Slate Peer Worker to provide a money management service for families on low incomes, working in partnership with KidsStuff
• WAM Youth – to expand a successful community mentoring programme for vulnerable/at risk children and young people
• The Isbourne Foundation -towards therapeutic movement classes for people living with dementia, and their carers to attend together, for the benefit of their mental, physical and emotional health.
